Concrete!

We finally got concrete -- 50 yards of it!

Jackson's Ordination

Jackson was ordained a deacon on November 17th.

Jackson's Birthday

We celebrated Jackson's birthday on November 13th.

 

We saw Thor

and went to the Pizza Pie Cafe.

Scarecrow Festival

Alice took the grandkids to the Scarecrow Fest again this year.  I wasn't able to go, but she did get a few good pictures of

and Katie.

Maggie's Soccer

On October 14th, we went to Maggie's soccer game.

She's #7 and plays goalie and midfielder.

Joseph's Football

Joseph (33) is the starting center for his team.

 The picture above shows that Joseph (leading the team to the ball) is one of the bigger boys on the team.  

On defense, he plays nose-guard.

Justen's Birthday

Justen was in Palmyra on his birthday, but he finally had some free time on labor day for dinner and a movie.

Justen's Eagle Project

For Justen's Eagle Project, we put 4 trailer loads of bark around the trees and planting beds in a park in Sandy.

Besides scouts and leaders, his whole family was involved:  Chase, Teri,

Chase, Brianne,

Kelsey,

Jeff, and Justen.

Justen had to do more supervising than working (though he would rather have been working).

Luau

Our neighbors had a luau, so we got matching shirts.

New Entryway

Our mason finished our entryway.  The lower part now matches the upper part.

Joseph's Birthday and Ordination

For Joseph's birthday activity, he requested a movie and Chuck-A-Rama -- and we happily obliged.  However, in keeping with my "senior memory," I forgot to take my camera.  But I did get pictures of Joseph and Michael immediately after Joseph was ordained a deacon. (Joseph got a paintball gun for his birthday and his friend shot him with it -- above his left eye.)

Riding in the Mountains

Alice went on a 5-hour horseback ride in mountains with her friends, Lueen and Marci, on Thursday.

Red Sun

Because of forest fires, the sky was red on Wednesday.  The sun also looked red, but that didn't show up in the picture.

Family Reunion

We had planned another 3-day family reunion at Lava Hot Springs in Idaho, but changing family schedules made it impossible, so we planned a "Family Fun Day" at Boondocks.  It was easy to get pictures of the 15 grandkids (and the dads):

There was lots of lunch and lots of action:

Justen at Hill Cumorah

Justen served a one-month mission as part of the 26-man technical crew at the Hill Cumorah Pageant.

He was set apart as a missionary,

helped build the set (his district built the part on the far right),

and ran a spotlight on Tower #1 -- 50 feet in the air (the tallest of 12 towers).

You can't see his tower in any of the pictures (it's three more to the left), but you can see his spotlight.  His is the big, round one (left of center stage) that has the silhouette of a man (Abinadai) in it.
