Copenhagen (København), Denmark (Danmark) -- May 12, 2015

We started Tuesday with a breakfast of fresh bread and pastries from the Netto grocery store (yellow logo of dog and basket on the left below) which we ate in our rental car (on the right below).

We chose this particular store because of its close proximity to our first sightseeing destination of the day: The Vor Frue Church.  Though, not paticularly impressive from the outside,

...this church holds some real treasures on the inside.  Bertel Thorvaldsen's sculpture of the Christus (a copy of which stands in the LDS Temple Visitor's Center in Salt Lake City) is there...

as well as his sculptures of the 12 Apostles (with Paul replacing Judas Iscariot).

Boyd K. Packer told an interesting story about the sculpture of Peter:

We then drove about 40 minutes northwest to the Frederiksborg Castle.

This castle holds the original Carl Bloch paintings.

We had a wonderfully Danish meal at the castle restaurant (no more Burger King), then returned to Nyhavn for some more gelato.
