Philadelphia -- May 8, 2015

It has been over a year since I've posted anything on this blog, but our trip to Scandinavia and Russia needs a forum and here it is.  We went with Dave (my cousin) and Gwen Dodge and our trip started in Philadelphia where Dave was doing a work seminar for his distributors.  We arrived on Thursday, May 7th, and while he was working on Friday, we went with Gwen and a few of the distributors' wives to do a little sight-seeing (and shopping).

First, we went to Macy's, where Alice bought some skirts and blouses and I got some pictures and video of the Wanamaker Organ.  The Wanamaker Organ, in Philadelphia, is the largest operational pipe organ in the world.  It is located in Macy's department store (formerly Wanamaker's department store) and is played twice a day.  (You can click on each picture to enlarge it.)

Then we went to the old Reading Railroad Terminal (yes, the same Reading Railroad as in Monopoly, but the locals pronounce it "Redding").  The terminal has been turned into a huge Market Place and we ate lunch there.

The Market Place is a huge "food court" where you can get about anything for lunch -- including some items prepared by the Amish.
